CLASSES
Our classes consist of many different types of activities and learning experiences, such as Bible stories, crafts, participatory games and instruction in basic skills. Your child will benefit and learn by interaction with other children and by taking instruction from the teacher. Social skills will be enhanced, and children will learn about the God who made them and the world they live in. Your child’s teacher has been hand selected. They are very knowledgeable, loving, and experienced and will provide very professional, yet very personal care and attention. You will need to pack a lunch each day for your child, one that does not require heating or refrigeration.
DISCIPLINE
We will use positive reinforcement techniques. Teachers will provide reasonable rules and logical consequences such as time-out. This could mean time out of the room if necessary. Teachers will be firm and loving and you will be contacted if there is a problem. Our biting and excessive physical contact policy is this: If a child bits or is excessively physically aggressive on three (3) occasions, even in the same day, you will be asked to withdraw them from class for two (2) weeks. The child may then come back and we will try to remedy the problem. If it continues and we feel we cannot control it, you may be asked to withdraw from classes for the remainder of the school year.
HEALTH
No medication will be administered at Preschool and MDO. If your child should become sick in class, we will isolate them while we try to contact you. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children stay home with any of the following symptoms: fever, sore throat, rashes, any skin or eye infection, excessively runny nose, and vomiting or diarrhea within 24 hours of class. We realize this policy means a few missed classes; however, it should make you feel much better about leaving your healthy child with us.
